Signed by the Minnesota Twins as a Minor League free agent on Dec. 2, 2013. … Shared the Eastern League lead in home runs in 2013. … Acquired by the Baltimore Orioles with infielder Justin Turner and infielder/outfielder Ryan Freel from the Cincinnati Reds for catcher Ramon Hernandez on Dec. 10, 2008. Won the 2009 Brooks Robinson Award as outstanding position player in the Orioles system. Was named Orioles Minor League Player of the Year in 2008. Selected by the Reds in the seventh round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of Wofford College. Became the first Wofford player drafted since Kevin Blocker was taken in the 25th round in 2000. In 2007, he was named a first-team Louisville Slugger All-American, was a unanimous selection as Most Outstanding Player of the Southern Conference Tournament, earned All-SoCon Tournament honors and was a first-team all-conference selection.
