My 15 year old son has been working out twice a week at Athletes Arena for approximately three months now. He's 6'2" 248 lbs. Truly I seen a great improvment in his over all body build, his walk, his confidence, his attitude, and most importantly his grades in school. He's tried martial arts and other personal trainers but neither one has grab his total attention like Athletes Arena. He looks forward to going each week, and if it were up to him, everyday. The trainers are very knowledgeable, and command respect in a gentle way. I highly recommend Athletes Arena for your child (male or female); this is $money well spent.
Thank you for all that you have done for our athletes, and my sons, to develop their speed and power. Your attention to what each one individually needs as well as the group needs is the reason for your success. No matter what sport someone is interested in they can benefit from your expertise. We have benefited greatly!
Our son, Stephen started working out with Josh Ortegon at Athlete's Arena in the winter after his junior year of high school football. After working out with Josh for a few months, the difference in Stephen's performance was amazing. With Josh's help, Stephen was able to attend the Nike camp in Gainsville in April and was voted the best OL player there. While at the 1 day camp, Stephen caught the eye of Coach Fridgen from the University of Maryland and in the summer was offerred a football scholarship to Maryland. He had also received scholarship offers from Wake Forest and Marshall. He was being recruited by the University of Georgia, the University of Tenn., Vanderbilit, the Citadel, the University of Kentucky, and UNC before a shoulder injury requiring surgery sidelined him for his senior season. We give 100% credit to Josh for all the attention Stephen received from the collegiate coaches.
Just as importantly as what Josh as done for Stephen physicially is his influence on Stephen's development from a teenager into a young man. Josh is just a good person. He believes in old fashioned values like hard work and commitment. Since knowing Josh, anytime something happens in Stephen's life good or bad, he calls Josh. The day after Stephen had his shoulder surgery, he got really anxious about his injury and how it was going to delay his training and not playing his senior year, etc....I just put him in the car and took him to Athlete's Arena and he spent some time talking to Josh and Josh was able to reassure him.
There are very few people that I would trust completely to know more than me or my husband what was best for Stephen. But Josh is definitely one of those people. We consider ourselves fortunate that he came into our son's life. We think Stephen will be a better football player and most importantly, a better person for the time he has spent with Josh Ortegon at Athlete's Arena.
My son participated in your training sessions during early fall 2006. His goal was to enhance his quickness and explosion and give himself a better opportunity to earn an invitation to the prestigious adidas 150 phenom camp in San Diego. I'm his father and AAU coach and I know he is talented, but I thought his lack of height would be a detriment. However, he did very well at two regional adidas camps, and lo and behold he was selected to attend the national camp in San Diego. Rising 9th grade phenoms from all over the country will be there. After checking the roster posted on the internet, I realized that my son is the only 9th grader selected from South Carolina (another is from Columbia, but is listed as Utah). Not only that, but he is the shortest person in the entire camp! There is no question in my mind that your training physically and mentally prepared him to meet the challenge earn the invitation to this very select camp. Thanks much, and we will be back!
At age 45, I thought I was playing my last hockey season; but, after working out with you, I helped my team to win the championship. I think I've got a couple more seasons in me!
Last year I was able to spend a significant amount of time with Josh Ortegon at the Athletes Arena. He was a big part of the success that I had in my off season program. Josh helped me with a variety of things including dynamic stretching, core work and agilities, sport specific workouts, and provided me with simple nutrition and workout supplementation tips. I'd like to wish you the best in your pursuits to accomplish all of your goals and dreams. Don't let any setback get in your way, only let it drive you harder.
